Seasonal Tender Truck Drivers for Elmwood, Nebraska City, Greenwood/Eagle/Waverly, Bennett/Palmyra, Adams West, Burr/Cook, Tecumseh, and Elk Creek.  Successful candidates will operate the tender semi-trucks or straight trucks to transport fertilizers and chemicals to the custom applicators or pull anhydrous ammonia nurse trailers to producer’s fields. This position requires a Commercial Driver’s License - Class B with HazMat and Tanker endorsements and/or have the ability to obtain these licenses within 30 working days of employment. 

Midwest Farmers Coop has an opening for an Automotive Retail Store Supervisor at the Greenwood service station.  This position will efficiently plan and evaluate the activities of the retail store and the automotive service station to achieve a profitable status; effectively supervises retail and automotive technician staff; maintains quality customer service standards; directs, coordinates and participates in automotive technician work to diagnose, repair and service of all types of vehicles; manages retail store and automotive shop accounting functions of daily sales, inventory, invoices, and assists in setting pricing for services and products.  Please use the link under the ‘employment’ tab at http://midwestfarmers.coop and complete the non-CDL application & email to mike.carroll@midwestfarmers.coop.

Custom Applicator position in Palmyra area. The successful candidate will operate spraying or dry fertilizer machinery to apply dry or liquid fertilizers, herbicides and insecticides to customer’s fields.  This position may perform duties in the seed/feed warehouses, grain storage areas, anhydrous ammonia station, and general maintenance and repairs.  Prefer at least one year of Custom Applicator experience.  Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, agriculture related background and a valid operator’s license.  This position also requires a Commercial Chemical Applicator’s license and a Commercial Driver’s License - Class B with HazMat and Tanker endorsements and/or have the ability to obtain these licenses within 30 working days of employment.   

Grain Originator – Waverly, NE – The successful candidate will be responsible to carry out the Company grain origination functions by purchasing various grains from producers to ensure profitability for the company.  Performs on- farm contacts and phone calls promoting, presenting and assisting in marketing programs for producers.  Processes off the farm grain purchases, coordinates settlements, prepares and distributes grain checks for purchases, and develops deferred contracts; manages the daily announcement of grain bid sheets to producers; may serve as back-up to the Assistant Grain Manager to dispatch the delivery of various grains to destinations by dispatching independent or MFC truck drivers. Potentially, this position will provide supervision and management to Grain Origination Clerks. 

Midwest Farmers Cooperative has an opening for an Automotive Service Technician II in Burr – The successful candidate will operate the Burr, NE automotive service station in a profitable manner and will work towards building a strong customer base.  Must have the ability to perform basic accounting and inventory functions, perform basic and routine automotive service and tire repairs for customers. 
Midwest Farmers Cooperative has an opening for an Precision AG Manager.  Location to be determined within trade territory.   The successful candidate will manage the design, development and implementation of precision agribusiness information and technical systems that allows the company to be a leader in a progressive direction of technical support for Field Agronomist and producers. 
     Primary Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Administers marketing programs to develop, grow and maintain a customer base through precision agribusiness technologies and management.
  • Develops policies and programs in agronomy sales management focused on precision agribusiness technology and salesmanship practices and technics.
  • Administers and manages the Global Positioning System (GPS), Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other similar satellite software programs and technology systems that will support agricultural production plans, programs, mapping, and grid sampling with producers.
  • Monitors the performance of all precision technology software and hardware systems to ensure proper upgrades are implemented and systems operate efficiently and effectively.
  • Manages and provides help desk assistance to any user of precision ag technology.
  • Manages and oversees field inspection reports to determine effectiveness and profitability of specific seeds, chemicals and/or fertilizer products.
  • Establishes and maintains quality customer relationships and adheres to professional communications with customers, employees, and suppliers.
     Supervisory Responsibilities:  Provide leadership and management to Precision Ag Specialist(s) and/or Technologist. 

     Education and/or Experience:  Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agribusiness or related field required and a minimum of three years in Precision Agribusiness and/or agronomy sales experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must possess knowledge of the principles and practices of Agronomy, retail marketing and sales, and Information Technology Systems.
     Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:  Requires a valid Operator’s license and preferred a current Certified Crop Advisor, CCA, license and have the ability to travel within the trade territory.

Operations Associate in Burr, NE.  The successful candidate will unload grain trucks at elevators, bins or flat storage areas; operate elevator equipment; perform routine general maintenance and cleaning of grain storage areas and equipment; may perform fertilizer and anhydrous ammonia station duties by safely preparing nurse tanks and mixing fertilizers for customers and unload bagged feed from suppliers into the warehouse and load bagged feed for customers.  High school diploma or equivalent, agriculture background and a valid operator’s license required.  Prefer a CDL Class B license with HazMat and Tanker endorsements and/or have the ability to obtain these licenses within 30 working days of employment.
